Community Renovations to Appear on PBS’ A Wider World

May 13, 2014

For the past thirteen years, PBS’ A Wider World has been showcasing the remarkable stories of disabled individuals who are able to overcome and rise above the challenges they face every day, as well as those who seek to aid the disabled community with various services and products. For our efforts in the field of barrier-free, handicap-accessible construction, Community Renovations has been selected by PBS to appear on the program this June.

Since 2008, Community Renovations has provided barrier-free solutions in both commercial and residential locations. We’ve remodeled bathrooms, kitchens and bedrooms, installed ramps, lifts and grab bars, widened doors and lowered appliances countless times. We’ve even designed and built handicap-accessible homes from the floor plans up. We didn’t do it for recognition or for attention but to make the lives of disabled individuals in our community a little bit easier. However, we are excited to show the work we’ve been doing to PBS’ cameras in the hope that others may be inspired by our efforts and take up the barrier-free cause.

Remember, making your home or business handicap accessible is an inclusive and kind thing to do. We hope you’ll consider it. In the meantime, be sure to watch A Wider World to learn how you can make a difference in your community.
